Satine Wallé: A Sonic Jolt of French Synth-Pop That Conquers the Crowd
Transitioning from an internet personality to a legitimate live act is a notorious hurdle, but French indie-pop breakout Satine Wallé proved she is more than just a viral soundtrack phenomenon. Stepping onto the stage as an opening act, Wallé delivered a 30-minute, high-energy sprint that brought far more value to the night than the standard opener.
A Friction-Filled Beginning
Wallé kicked off the night with a blunt, honest disclaimer:“I will sing in French, as all my songs are in French.” For an international crowd, it was a bold opening gamble. A keen ear could detect a few faint, scattered boos mixed with the initial cheers—a classic hurdle for a foreign-language act facing an unfamiliar audience.
Yet Wallé didn’t let the friction phase her. Riding the momentum of her late-2025 breakthrough with “C’est toi,” made famous by its appearance on the ‘Heated Rivalry’ soundtrack, her eccentric and charismatic stage presence took over almost immediately. By the second track, the crowd was entirely on board, burying any early skepticism beneath a wave of genuine, roaring support.
High-BPM Energy vs. Playback Reality
Sonically, the set was a fast-paced ride through synth-pop and high-BPM, upbeat tracks, fuelled by dense electronic arrangements.
If there is any criticism to be made, it lies in the production setup. Wallé performed with completely live vocals, but the rest of the music was driven entirely by playback tracks. While purists might crave the organic weight of a live backing band, the lack of live instrumentation ultimately didn’t sap the room’s momentum. Wallé’s raw vocal control and relentless, hyper-modern energy more than compensated for the pre-recorded backing.
Satine Wallé succeeded in doing exactly what a great opening act is supposed to do: she captivated the room, elevated the night’s baseline energy, and proved that her music can transcend language barriers. She left the stage having earned every bit of the crowd’s support—only to run back onto the stage a second later for a quick selfie with the audience.
