From Handwritten Notebooks to the Front Row

Long before online databases, radio was my gateway to the world of music. My path in music journalism began roughly in 1979 with handwritten notebooks filled with notes gathered from radio broadcasts and every record I could get my hands on, most of it borrowed from friends—manually logging band lineups, album releases, and artist histories. What started as private listener notes quickly spilled onto my high school bulletin board to share new releases and discovery. Decades later, the tools and platforms have evolved, but the underlying drive remains unchanged: capturing the energy, stories, and memories of music culture.

Canadian with Hungarian heritage, I have had the privilege of living in Canada for a long time, in South America for years, and traveling extensively throughout the Americas. My lens has become a faithful companion, documenting the diversity of the world around us. Immersing myself in the Americas, I have experienced a rich tapestry of cultures and awe-inspiring landscapes.
I arrived in Germany at age 58, with little knowledge of the country, no German skills, and hardly any connections.
What started as a leap into the unknown has turned into an adventure I’m capturing through my camera.
