Kunst!Rasen Bonn plans up to 30 concerts for 2027
Radisson Blue Hotel, Bonn, October 15, 2026
Kunst!Rasen Bonn is preparing to expand its concert program in 2027, with organizers planning up to 30 events and aiming to attract 140,000 visitors. The announcement follows a successful 2026 season, during which 24 events drew a total of 121,000 fans.
Managing Director Martin Nötzel announced the plans on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at a press conference marking the preparations for the upcoming season. Several major acts have already been confirmed, including Bryan Adams, Simply Red and Nico Santos. The Fantastic Four have already sold out their scheduled performance. With these announcements, approximately 25,000 tickets for the 2027 season have already been sold.
The latest addition to the program is Toto, who will perform at Kunst!Rasen on July 12, bringing their catalog of international hits, including Africa, Rosanna and Hold the Line, to Bonn.
Sound improvements and neighborhood relations
Sound insulation has been a central issue throughout the concert series’ 15-year history. According to Nötzel, measures introduced over the years are now delivering noticeable results, while the overall sound quality continues to improve.
“We are now better than we should be,” Nötzel said, referring to the progress made in addressing noise concerns. He also highlighted the recognition Kunst!Rasen received this year, when Initiative Music awarded the venue €217,000 in funding for its noise-reduction efforts.
“We are not aware of any venue that has been able to solve massive sound problems in the neighborhood in such a successful way,” Nötzel added.
Calls for better infrastructure
Despite the progress, the organizers continue to face logistical and financial challenges in preparing the open-air venue each year. A meeting with the City of Bonn is scheduled for November, following the submission of a ten-page letter outlining the team’s demands.
Managing Director Katrin Wurm expressed frustration with the lack of progress in communication with the city over the past 15 years. The annual reconstruction of the venue alone costs approximately €1 million.
The organizers are calling for permanent foundation points to simplify construction, a more welcoming entrance area, and permanent electricity and water infrastructure to replace the temporary systems installed for the concert season.
New service for concertgoers in 2027
Visitors can also expect a new convenience feature next summer. The planned “Remote Cash” service will allow concertgoers to order and pay for drinks using their smartphones before collecting them at a dedicated express station, with the aim of reducing waiting times at beverage counters.
With an expanded program, several major international acts already announced and continued investment in sound management and visitor services, Kunst!Rasen is targeting another record season in Bonn in 2027.
