Blacklist Union opening for Faster Pussycat at Gebäude 9 in Köln

The band hit the stage after a mere 10-minute intermission, so people were doing a 180 and filing back into the room. The quick turnaround made sense once it became clear why: the bassist and drummer were pulling double duty, having also backed Lorraine Lewis earlier in the night.

The set was intense and loud, carrying that punk-and-hardcore-rooted stage energy throughout. The band tore through their material fast, wrapping their 30-minute set by 9:10 PM. Highlights included “Mississippi Moonhound,” “Heavy Is the Crown,” “Evil Eye,” “Dirty Halo,” and “Madame Butterfly.” For the closer, a reimagined version of “Jackson,” Lorraine Lewis returned to the stage for a duet.
