Opening with a 45-minute set, Grayscale delivered a tight, punchy performance that bridged their classic pop-punk roots with their more recent, cinematic alt-rock sound. Frontman Collin Walsh led the room with his signature high energy, getting the crowd moving early with hard-hitting melodies and raw, honest lyricism. A cover of “Twist And Shout” stood out as a definite highlight — remarkable how fresh the song still sounds in 2026. Having a full band on stage, rather than a solo artist with a guitar, only added to the impact of the set. The audience’s response was strong throughout, with singalongs breaking out as the set went on, and the final notes rang out to a heavy ovation from the crowd. They were the perfect guests for The Maine.

The Stadthalle in Cologne has a perfect location, easy to reach by various public transport modalities and even has a parking lot right in the front. The concert room has a nice size for 1,400 people and even sound proofed ceiling. With all that the building is starting to show its age with its 60’s design.
