Even before releasing their first single, the UK band President was already the talk of the town. The reason: the group was announced for the lineup of the British Download Festival last year without having released a single song.
The performance was a resounding success, quickly turning the band into a sensation that captivated both fans and critics. Their debut single, “In The Name of the Father,” marked their first major breakthrough, earning accolades such as the BBC’s “Tune of the Week.” Yet, even a year later, the mystery surrounding the band remains unsolved. The identities of the people behind the songs—which blend modern metal, alternative rock, and electronic elements—stay under wraps. The band has revealed virtually nothing about its members, appearing both live and online in masks and maintaining total anonymity. It is a stylistic choice that brought great success to peers like Ghost and Sleep Token, and one that quickly led to President being compared to those very genre giants—and not just because of their aesthetic.
Their debut EP, “King of Terrors” (released in September 2025), racked up over 50 million streams on Spotify within just a few months. Tracks like “Fearless” and “Destroy Me” exemplify President’s approach, tackling themes such as the human relationship with religion, spiritual crises, and existential dread. Their debut album, *Blood Of Your Empire*—scheduled for release on September 4th of this year—will pick up on these same themes. With the single “Doomloop,” President offers a first taste of the world their long-awaited full-length debut will create: a realm that breaks free from expectations and genre boundaries, delivering a raw, ferocious sound that ensures an intense listening experience. Fans wishing to witness this live will have the chance to do so this November during the “Blood Of Your Empire tour.
