Lovejoy
Support: THE BAXBYS
Hailed as a much-needed breath of fresh air for the British indie scene, the quartet Lovejoy has rapidly won over hearts worldwide with their high-energy indie sound.
The creative force and frontman, William Gold, was already known to millions before founding Lovejoy. Under the pseudonym Wilbur Soot, he made a name for himself with humorous YouTube videos and his own early songs. In 2021, he met guitarist Joe Goldsmith, bassist Ash Kabosu, and drummer Mark Boardman in Brighton—and Lovejoy was born.
That same year, the band recorded their debut EP, *Are You Alright?*, which was released in May 2021. Just a few months later, they followed up with a second EP, *Pebble Brain*; its fresh, almost brash indie sound garnered national attention and earned them a spot on the charts. Following the release of their third EP, *Wake Up & It’s Over*, Lovejoy cemented their reputation as an outstanding live act in the summer of 2023, performing at renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Finally, in October 2025, the band released their long-awaited debut album, *One Simple Trick*—a record born of “four years of overthinking,” as Lovejoy themselves wryly put it. Its blend of catchy melodies and youthful energy frequently drew favorable comparisons to indie giants like the Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, and The Libertines. At the same time, the album marked their definitive international breakthrough, with the subsequent “One Simple Tour” standing as their biggest to date.
This September, Lovejoy are finally returning to the stage to play three club shows in Germany!
