James Blunt – Airplane Mode

James Blunt is taking off again: On November 6, the British singer-songwriter releases his new album “Airplane Mode” via Atlantic Records—a record that looks to the future while delivering that signature blend of lightness, melancholy, and keen observation for which the musician has long been celebrated.
Alongside the album, James Blunt has announced an extensive tour of Germany. The first stop takes the Brit to Nuremberg on February 23, 2027, followed by nine more concerts in the country and two shows in Innsbruck and Vienna. The “Airplane Mode Tour” will conclude on March 24, 2027, in Mannheim.
James Blunt has already offered a first taste of “Airplane Mode” with the breezy single “Tastes Like Summer.” Now comes a second song, “Weight Of It All,” revealing a different side of the album: more contemplative, closer to the harsh realities of modern life and the burdens many people carry. In total, “Airplane Mode” brings together twelve stories about being on the move—about detours, new beginnings, and life’s turbulence, both big and small. Other highlights include the anthem “Circles”—which already has the makings of a new Blunt classic—the effortlessly driving groove of “Oh Daisy,” and the raw emotion of “Modern Love.”
The new album marks a return to peak form for an artist who never ceases to surprise. “Somewhere along the way I lost myself, but I found myself again in a studio in Banbury,” says Blunt, referring to Pig Music Studios, where the majority of the album was recorded.
The record was created in collaboration with James Blunt’s long-standing, tightly-knit live band—and that chemistry is palpable in the music. James Blunt and his band will be back on tour next year.
