The record became a massive global success, certified Diamond in Canada, and propelled her into the spotlight with timeless pop-rock and soul hits like “Let It Rain,” “Birmingham,” and “Dark Horse.”
Known for her distinctively gritty, powerful, and emotionally charged vocals, Marshall followed her debut with successful albums like Tuesday’s Child (1999) and Everybody’s Got a Story (2001).
