ASP – Mehr Denn Je! 2026

Support: Schöngeist

The tour following their live hiatus.
They are back! The masters of poetic lyrics and rousing melodies!
A fixture of the German-language music landscape for 25 years. Indispensable. Inimitable. Unbroken.
ASP do their own thing—authentic and always true to themselves and their fans—and in 2026, this holds true MORE THAN EVER.
In 1999, a young band asked the German rock scene a question that seemed contradictory yet confident: “Did you miss me?” Discerning listeners and free thinkers alike rewarded this audacity, answering the question with a resounding “yes” for over 25 years and turning ASP into the figurehead of an entire scene. Throughout this journey, the band—led by a frontman known for his eerie stage makeup—has always embraced a certain uncompromising edge, mastering the balancing act between lyrical depth and playful lightness. At the same time, they traverse multiple genres—from heavy rock and electro to folk ballads—yet ultimately fit into none. No single label applies; too many styles serve the stories told across their concept albums, which are as compelling as they are daring.
One thing is certain: ASP are always an experience live on stage—whether in concert halls, headlining key scene festivals, or performing at major metal events like Wacken Open Air and Rockharz—and they will prove this once again in 2026 following their live hiatus.
It has been more than a quarter of a century during which mastermind and namesake Asp Spreng has spun fantastic tales across several narrative cycles and established a unique musical genre of his own: Gothic Novel Rock. Most recently, the band surprised fans with the hit album *Horrors*; featuring musical short stories—novellas rather than full-length novels—it offered an exciting change of pace from their previously intricate narrative structures and served as a thrilling interlude before they dedicated their 2024 anniversary year to a stunning reinterpretation of ASP classics, released under the evocative title *Returning to Haunted Places*. Subsequently, ASP immersed themselves in the intensive crafting of purely acoustic arrangements, revealing facets of the ASP universe that were perhaps more delicate, yet no less passionate and energetic.

To be continued… The dark rockers certainly have something special in store for the tour: songs from their upcoming album, ‘HORRORS 2 – Another Collection of Gothic Novellas’. Naturally, they will also bring many of their countless hits spanning nearly three decades to the stage!
