Samurai Pizza Fest II – Level II

Since releasing their first self-published songs, Samurai Pizza Cats from Castrop-Rauxel have long since ceased to be an insider tip. Founded in 2021 by Daniel Haniß (Electric Callboy), Sebastian Fischer, and Stefan Buchwald (both formerly of Fall Of Gaia), the band quickly garnered a loyal fanbase thanks to their unique sound and high-energy live performances. Stefan Reufer joined the Ruhr-area group as bassist in 2021, becoming a permanent member of the lineup. Robin Kemper joined as the new drummer in late 2025, injecting fresh momentum into the Castrop-Rauxel-based outfit.
Musically, the band straddles the line between metalcore and deathcore with electronic influences, standing out through catchy melodies and powerful guitar riffs. Their songs feature a blend of biting humor and profound themes, adding a playful touch to a name that alludes to a cult anime series.
Samurai Pizza Cats released their debut album, “YOU’RE HELLCOME,” in 2023. The record dropped on September 22 and entered the top 100 of the German album charts.
In January 2024, the band played a nearly sold-out headline tour across Germany and Austria. Early in 2025, they released two new tracks—”Superzero” and “Pandastruck”—and embarked on a tour of the same name in March.
Samurai Pizza Cats raised the bar even higher in August 2025. With the song “Fear No Slice,” the band showcased themselves at their best, once again demonstrating the unmistakable style that makes them so unique.
The “Samurai Pizza Fest” is already on the agenda for 2026. The band’s first self-hosted festival takes place on March 28, 2026, at the Live Music Hall in Cologne, featuring an impressive lineup—From Fall to Spring, STVW, and Statefall—guaranteed to make any music fan’s heart beat faster.
Their new album, ‘Press Start‘, is set for release on March 27, 2026, via Century Media Records; building on their previous singles, the band is poised to bring their unique blend of pizza and chaos to stages far beyond national borders.
