The Pineapple Thief – Far And Wide European Tour 2027
For over 25 years, The Pineapple Thief have ranked among the most renowned bands in the international progressive rock scene. Now, they are finally returning to Germany with a new album in tow!
No one could ever accuse The Pineapple Thief of laziness: 16 studio albums, six EPs, and numerous live and compilation albums attest to an impressive body of work. The driving force behind this is the band’s founder and mastermind, Bruce Soord. The British musician launched the project in 1999—initially under the name “Pineapple Thief”—to create a personal musical outlet alongside his then-band, Vulgar Unicorn. From the very beginning, he demonstrated a unique ability to blend atmospheric soundscapes with deeply emotional songwriting. Consequently, comparisons to giants like Porcupine Tree, Radiohead, and Tool were quick to follow.
The first three albums were created as a purely solo studio project before friends and musical companions gradually joined the fold: bassist Jon Sykes, drummer Keith Harrison, guitarist Wayne Higgins, and keyboardist Matt O’Leary.
Following several successful albums and a few lineup changes, a largely stable roster emerged in 2017. Today, the band comprises Bruce Soord, Jon Sykes, Steve Kitch, Beren Matthews, and Gavin Harrison. The close collaboration between Soord and Harrison—already renowned as the drummer for Porcupine Tree and King Crimson—proved to be a stroke of luck for the band’s creative reinvention and paved the way for some of their most successful albums.
Fans can look forward to the new album, *Far and Wide*, arriving in October. The singles released in advance, “New World Order” and “Hold the Ashes,” offer a tantalizing preview: on this new record, The Pineapple Thief sound rockier than ever—without ever losing sight of their musical identity. “Far and Wide” is the work of a band that effortlessly masters near-dreamlike sonic worlds, transforming them into powerful, evocative songs.
It is on stage that the striking contrast between the intimacy of their lyrics and their expansive sound truly comes into its own: delicate, fragile moments give way to powerful soundscapes, while emotional songwriting and the exceptional musicianship of every band member form the foundation of their live performance.
In April 2027, this magic can finally be experienced again during a six-date tour across Germany!
