There was a time when Rosenberg had settled into the reliability of solitude. By the age of 42, the singer-songwriter could look back on a successful yet restless career. “I had slowly come to terms with the idea that I might never have a family of my own,” Rosenberg recalls. But then, things took an unexpected turn—in a way he describes as “romantic and almost absurdly Hollywood.” The love of his life had actually been by his side on stage all along. For ten years, Rebekah had been his manager, accompanying him through tour buses, promotional marathons, and video shoots around the world. After the pandemic, a spark ignited between them. The risk was high: “Moving from a working relationship to a romantic one is scary. The older you get, the more emotional scars you carry from love,” Rosenberg admits.
His new album, *Wild Love*, draws its energy precisely from that electrifying state of suspension between fear and surrender. It is arguably the musician’s most personal and multifaceted album to date. The tracks capture the full spectrum of love—from the nagging uncertainty found in the upbeat, percussive “Caution To The Wind” to the anthemic title track, which serves as the record’s centerpiece. He didn’t shy away from sonic experimentation in the studio in the South Downs, either; for “Caution To The Wind,” he drew inspiration from the 1980s piano sound of Bruce Hornsby. “At that time, I had absolutely no control over my emotions. So, the music couldn’t sound too controlled, either,” he laughs. Songs like the opener “Boomerang” also reflect this shift: born out of the monotony of the pandemic, they channel a yearning for a fresh start.
