The True Mayhem + Marduk – Death Over Europe – Part II + DETOUR

Mayhem (often legally and stylistically billed as The True Mayhem) is an infamous Norwegian black metal band formed in Oslo in 1984. Widely credited as the primary pioneers of the early Norwegian black metal scene, the band is as famous for its genre-defining, bleak musical style as it is for a highly controversial and violent history. This dark history includes the tragic suicide of its vocalist, a string of notorious church arsons, and the murder of its founding guitarist. Founded by guitarist Euronymous (Øystein Aarseth), bassist Necrobutcher (Jørn Stubberud), and drummer Manheim (Kjetil Manheim). They took their name from the Venom song “Mayhem with Mercy”. They added “The True” to their moniker to distinguish themselves from other bands using the same name.

Marduk is a prominent Swedish black metal band formed in Norrköping in 1990 by guitarist Morgan Håkansson. Renowned for being one of the most aggressive, fast, and blasphemous acts in the extreme metal scene, their name is derived from the ancient Babylonian deity Marduk. Over more than three decades, the band has evolved from an early blackened death metal style into a hyper-fast, relentless wall of sound, heavily defining the second wave of black metal. Marduk’s music is characterized by blistering tempos, heavy use of blast beats, and chaotic yet melodic riffing.
